Luxury framed by the charm of the past and nature.
The character of the garden was changed between 1899 and 1901, during the construction of the Neo-Renaissance Palace. Its boundaries were expanded to include the forest, adjacent to the palace courtyard on the southeast side. An icehouse was built into the slope of the Forest Park hill, and the slope was reinforced with volcanic rocks. The rocks are covered with common pansy. The entrance to the palace is accentuated by an oval lawn with uniquely sized box trees.
When exploring the forest section of the park, it’s worth highlighting the previously introduced yews, cypresses, arborvitaes, and Douglas firs, Serbian spruces, beeches, hornbeams, and black locusts. The Platanowa Access Avenue dates from this period, with ancient oaks, purple beech, spruces, cypresses, and arborvitaes preserved at its summit.
The main park entrance is a vast clearing with individual trees: oaks, ginkgo biloba, and the planned and recently planted tulip trees, willows, laburnums, and catalpas.
